A second man is charged with a felony following Duluth's first murder of 2013.
Kenneth Russel Johnson, 33, is charged with aiding an offender. He is the boyfriend of the mother of the murder suspect, 17-year-old Enrique Giner.
Police say Johnson sold aided Giner by selling property from the victim's home and received profits from that sold stolen property. They also say he withheld and provided them with misleading information.
Bryan Starnes, 27, was killed in his Lincoln Park home in early March, according to police. A criminal complaint states that he suffered 57 injuries, including one fatal stab wound and numerous blows to the head and body by what appeared to be a hammer.
Johnson is being held at the St. Louis County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court next month.
Giner's next hearing is set for Thursday.
