Duluth Police say a man wanted on a felony warrant who fled from arrest twice last year is now in custody.
21-year-old Solomon Byrd was arrested on a felony warrant for first-degree aggravated robbery on Tuesday. Officers had set up a perimeter in the 300 block of North 28th Avenue West after receiving information that Byrd was at an apartment on that block. Police say Byrd attempted to escape by jumping off a second-story deck, but was arrested.
Byrd is a suspect in the April 2012 robbery of a Central Hillside apartment. Police say an officer attempted to arrest him last September but say he broke free as the officer put on handcuffs. Three days later, police say Byrd jumped out of the first-floor window of a Central Hillside apartment as officers arrived to make an arrest.
Byrd is being held at the St. Louis County Jail.
