Kids always love to color and draw pictures. This month, the Duluth Art Institute is celebrating the creativity of children with a special art exhibit.
Annie Dugan from the Duluth Art Institute stopped by Good Morning Northland Tuesday. She talked about the Youth Art Opening that takes place on Thursday at the DAI starting at 5 p.m.
Dugan said 12 schools around the Northland and more than 150 pieces of work are represented at the special art gallery at the DAI, and the kids range from kindergarten to 12th grade.
Dugan also said that she hopes those who attend the Youth Art Opening take away the importance of arts education in schools. It is something that is vital for the next generation and the community, Dugan said.
The Youth Art Opening runs from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 5th at the Duluth Arts Institute. For more information, visit www.duluthartinstitute.org.
