Elementary students in Proctor learned about the healthy habits of brushing and flossing on Wednesday.
The nonprofit Just Kids Dental is spreading the word with demonstrations and dancing in schools across the Northland.
The group also offers free dental cleanings for students in need, and they make sure to get a toothbrush to every student.
The group's executive director said a toothbrush is something most of us take for granted.
“Over and over again there are children who do not own their own toothbrush and we hear many times that siblings share a toothbrush because there is only one in the house,” Stacey Anderson said.
Just Kids Dental hopes to hand out over 10,000 toothbrushes this year. The nonprofit has been working in the Northland since 2006.
