If you're in the mood for something sweet at your next event, you'll want to check out the newest location of Cake Occasions.
The cake shop has just opened up their new location at 129 E. Central Entrance. They were formerly located in Lincoln Park, and owner Amber Griffith said steady sales since their inception in 2010 prompted them to find a bigger space.
On Thursday, Griffith shared what makes their cakes so special.
"We make all of our cakes and cupcakes to order so they don't freeze any of our cake. There's a different flavor and texture in cakes that are made to order," Griffith said.
Interestingly, Griffith said about 90 percent of their orders come through their Facebook page. Griffith said they've got all their specials listed there, including things like white cupcakes with raspberry filling, orange dreamsicle and even recipes with Lake Superior Brewing Company's Oatmeal Stout.
