The flood-damaged Verizon Wireless store near the Miller Hill Mall is moving, and its former location is welcoming in a new shoe business.
On Monday, the Verizon Wireless store confirmed they are going to begin construction at the building of the former Ground Round restaurant, which is located just across the way from their store on Maple Grove Road.
The Verizon store was heavily damaged by the June flooding, and told Eyewitness News in September that they would not be able to reopen until March 2013.
In its place, Bender's Shoes, which has stores in Grand Rapids and Hibbing, will move in sometime in March.
In the meantime, Verizon said they are still encouraging customers to visit their kiosk in the Miller Hill Mall for any assistance.
