Duluth Mayor Don Ness has officially set aside a day to honor the state's all-time leading scorer in high school basketball.
He declared Friday, December 28th to be Anders Broman day.
"Duluth is now home to the all-time leading scorer in Minnesota high school basketball history," Ness said in at a press conference.
Broman broke the record previously held by Kevin Noreen in a tournament game against Mesabi East on Thursday night. He has racked up 4,122 points in his career.
"I feel extremely blessed. I'd also like to thank my parents, my coaches, my teammates. I could not have done this without them," Broman said, speaking at the press conference Friday.
Mayor Ness also pointed out that Broman is a member of the National Honor Society, a junior Rotarian, serves at his church, along with the Union Gospel Mission, and summer basketball camps for kids.
