Duluth, Minn. - Andy "Kaos" Kolle's return to the ring next month already had the makings of a memorable match-up as he'll fight Cerresso Fort in a battle of Minnesota's top two ranked junior middleweights. Now, it will be for championship gold.
Kolle and Fort will face off for the vacant Minnesota Junior Middleweight Title on January 25th at Grand Casino in Hinckley. This will be Kolle's first fight since last April. Fort comes in with a 14-0-1 record while kolle is 25-3.
"It is not so much the title that I want to fight for, but to be recognized as the best as the state is a good feeling. I think I can knock anybody out to be honest with you, I just need to land the right shots at the right time. It is all about timing and speed and I have the power to knock him out, but he has the power to knock me out, so it is one of those fights where it is 'may the best man win' and I am going to go out there and box my best and not let him land those shots," says Andy Kolle.
Also on the card in Hinckley will be Duluth's R.J. "T-Rex" Laase and he now has an opponent. T-Rex will fight undefeated Justin Jones (5-0) from Florida. Laase is 9-1 and looking for win number ten. He's won his last five fights, four of them by knockout.
"It is really exciting and finally a big test for me and a lot of people have criticized the opponents that I have had so far, but they haven't stepped in the ring. This is a big opportunity for me to mark my stance in the boxing world and show that I am here, I am legit and I am ready to continue to go forward," says R.J. Laase.
