Duluth, Minn. - There is still a lot of season left and a lot of games left for Anders Broman at Lakeview Christian Academy. From here on out, every time he scores....he breaks his own record.
The career scoring record in Minnesota belongs to Broman and it is fitting that it happened on an assist from his younger brother Bjorn?
"That was really nice and that was special. He (Bjorn Broman) really wanted that assist so it is nice that it worked out that way," says Senior Guard Anders Broman.
Broman needed just seven points to pass Kevin Noreen's (MN Transitions School, 2010) mark of 4,086 points and he did so on Thursday against Mesabi East at the Hibbing Holiday Tournament. Former record holder Joel McDonald (Chisholm, 1991) was there for the memorable moment.
"It is really relieving and I feel really blessed to have this opportunity," says Broman.
Broman finished with 42 points in the Lion's 100-87 point win and he finished Thursday with 4,122 career points.
"The hardwork and dedication that he has put in over the years, we are all very grateful to be apart of the team and to be associated with such a decent person as Anders," says LCA Head Coach Bob Newstrom.
