A Superior business operating for more than a century is preparing to close.

Harold Grossman, the owner of Lurye Furniture and Carpet, tells Eyewitness News the decision to close is one he's been thinking about for a long time, and one that was difficult to make. "We've been here a long time, built a lot of strong relationships, got involved in furnishing a lot of homes, so it was not an easy decision-not overnight."

Grossman said it is time to take on some new chapters in life outside of retail. He said the economy had nothing to do with the decision to close.

The store will remain open for several more months, according to Grossman.
