The instructor of culinary arts for Duluth Public Schools called it the best kept secret in our area. It is a restaurant run by high school students.
That instructor is chef Glenn D'Amour. He stopped by Good Morning Northland Monday with one of his students, Matthew Johnson, to talk about the Food for Thought Restaurant.
Food for Thought is run by culinary arts students from both Denfeld and East High School in Duluth, D'Amour said. His students get to cook the meal served at the restaurant. This way, the students get hands on experience.
The menu at Food for Thought looks like one that you may see at the fanciest of restaurants. D'Amour said that the students make things like scallops, shrimp, steaks and much more.

The restaurant opens at noon each day. You are asked to come between 11:50 a.m. to noon to be seated. For reservations, call (218) 336-8845 ext. 4055.
