Eden Prairie, MN – RB Adrian Peterson has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his Week 14 performance against the Chicago Bears.
Peterson rushed for 154 yards on a career-high 31 carries with 2 TDs. It marked Peterson’s seventh consecutive 100-yard game, the longest streak in team history. Peterson opened the game with a 51-yard rush, his 16th career 50-yard run. That is the most among active players.
This season, Peterson has rushed for 1,600 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging 6.04 yards per carry. He is the third player in NFL history to rush for at least 1,600 yards and 10 touchdowns while averaging 6.0+ yards per carry in his team’s first 13 games (Pro Football Hall of Famers JIM BROWN, 1963 and O.J. SIMPSON, 1973).
Peterson has rushed for 10 touchdowns this season and joined LA DAINIAN TOMLINSON as the only players in NFL history to rush for at least 10 touchdowns in each of his first six seasons. The performance was his 13th career 150-yard rushing game, the most among active players.
In his sixth season from Oklahoma, this is Peterson’s seventh career Player of the Week Award and second this season (Week 7). Peterson leads all active running backs with seven career Player of the Week Awards.
