The Itasca County Sheriff's Office has concluded the investigation into the death of Steven Shields-Moreno, the 19-year-old Nashwauk man that was found unresponsive on October 27th at a party in Balsam Township.
Sheriff's Office Investigators interviewed over 90 individuals that were at or had attended the party that evening at a hunting camp.
Results of the autopsy, performed by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office, established that the victim did not have any life threatening trauma that may have caused his death.
In addition, laboratory results of tissue, blood and urine samples confirm that the victim did not overdose on any chemicals or alcohol.
Given the evidence obtained, no foul play is suspected in Shields-Moreno's death.
The case file will be turned over to the Itasca County Attorney's Office for review.
