Wis. DNR: Hunting Accident Update

The Wisconsin DNR has provided an update on their investigation.
The agency said that Mike Thomson believed he heard some deer behind him, observed a deer, and attempted to shoot it.
The shot hit his friend, Garrett Carr, instead.
According to the DNR, Thomson responded to the emergency immediately and appropriately by calling 9-1-1, and performing CPR, per the dispatcher's instructions.
Carr died at the scene. He was 27 years old, and had just bought a house in the Oliver neighborhood. Thomson is 31, and is from Superior.
The DNR also said, "Our sympathies go out to the family and friends of Mr. Carr and we treat these cases with great sensitivity to all involved as they certainly change everyone’s lives."
