Santa ditched his sleigh on Saturday to celebrate the opening of Bentleyville. Kris Kringle parachuted into Bayfront Festival Park around 5 pm, and then hurried off to his house to greet the children who came to visit.
Beginning Saturday, the free annual event will be open 5-10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 5-9 pm every other day of the week until Dec. 26th.
And the Duluth Transit Authority wants to help you get down there.
Every Friday and Saturday, "Jingle Busses" will be offering free lifts down to Bayfront.
Two different routes will be offered. One pick-up will be in Canal Park at Buchanan St. near Canal Park Dr. That route runs every 20 minutes. Another route makes stops at Greysolon Plaza, the Holiday Center, and 5th Ave. West near the Duluth Public Library.
The Bentleyville bus stops will be marked with decorative signs.
