nullIn less than two months, both Minnesota and Wisconsin will start their first ever wolf hunts. On Friday night, folks listened to a panel on the legal and ethical concerns of the upcoming season.

The panel discussion featured a mix of advocates, both for and against. Director Shane Courtland with the Center for Ethics and Public Policy, which hosted Friday's panel, said the event isn't a rally. He said it's about putting knowledgeable sides together to inform others.

"It's one thing to preach to the choir... but it's much different to engage with someone of a different opinion and who's actually very well literate in the actual field, and that will provide more of the enlightening exchanges than, say, just a regular rally," Courtland said.

Grey wolves were taken off the endangered species list for the Great Lakes Region in January 2012. Wolf hunts for Minnesota and Wisconsin start on November 24 and 26, respectively.
