MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - The former director of a West Michigan charter school faces multiple felony charges after authorities say she falsified records.

The state attorney general's office has charged Barbara Stellard with 10 felony and high court misdemeanor counts that stem from reports filed in 2008.

According to The Muskegon Chronicle (http://bit.ly/WuogHM ), an arrest warrant indicates that while Stellard was "an officer or employee of WayPoint Academy ... (she) did willfully falsify a record having a bearing on school aid."

State aid is based on a school's number of students.

The 58-year-old Stellard was arraigned Thursday. She faces an Oct. 17 preliminary examination in Muskegon.

A telephone message seeking comment from Stellard was left on Friday.

WayPoint board president Jim Fisher said he's aware of an investigation into Stellard but declined to comment.
