Health Professionals Stress Importance of Flu Shot

As we're seeing those "Get Your Flu Shot" signs popping up outside of stores and pharmacies, health professionals drove the point home Wednesday at a Duluth city employee health fair at the DECC.
Chris Parrucci, with HealthPartners, told Eyewitness News "that flu shot is a preventative measure. It can prevent conditions associated with the flu."
Just to set a good example, Duluth Mayor Don Ness got his flu shot at the health fair. The emphasis there was on employee health, according to Parrucci.
Employees learned about choosing healthy foods, taking advantage of preventive health care and reduce stress. Parrucci said better health means better health care costs.
