Superior City Council Approves Levy Increase

The Superior City Council approved a 3.8% levy increase for the 2013 budget Tuesday night.

Superior Police and Fire Departments both spoke at the meeting explaining to councilors that their budgets are already lean, and making cuts without a levy increase would mean crucial staffing cuts that would compromise public safety.

The increase means about $26 dollars more in taxes per year for a home valued at $100,000 dollars.

The next step in the planned tax hike is a public hearing set for November 7th.
