nullA jury has convicted a defendant in a case authorities once called a "thrill killing"with "satanic overtones."

The jury convicted 30-year-old Christopher Roalson of felony first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 93-year-old Irena Roszak.  Prosecutors alleged Roalson and a teenage accomplice, Austin Davis, broke into Roszak's Radisson home in 2009.  Authorities say she was stabbed fifteen times.

Closing arguments in Roalson's trial were presented Friday morning.  The jury deliberated for about two hours before returning the guilty verdict.  The trial has been underway since Monday.

Roalson was also convicted of a felony burglary charge.

Davis, 18, pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional homicide and is due to be re-sentenced next month.  He testified as a prosecution witness at Roalson's trial.

The trial was overseen by an out-of-county judge and heard by an out-of-county jury due to publicity surrounding the case.
