Soon members one of the largest power co-ops in the area will be seeing some rate increases. But they will have a say in what those changes will be.
President of the Lake Country Board of Directors Jack Huhta and the co-op's general manager Greg Randa stopped by Good Morning Northland to discuss the proposals.
There are three different options co-op members can choose from. Randa said the first option would increase decrease energy rates for all members, but the facilities charge would go up to $42. Lake Country has said this is the preferred option.
The second option is a $32 facility charge and rates would drop slightly. The third would have a $27.50 facility charge, but rates would nearly stay the same, Randa said.
Ballots went out to co-op members last week. The ballots will be sent to the board's annual meeting on June 9. Results will be announced that day, Randa said.
