The National Weather Service in Duluth has confirmed two tornado tracks from Tuesday, July 27th.  One of the tornadoes touched down on the Turtle Flambeau Flowage near Springstead landing in Iron County.  The Weather Service said the "majority of the damage in the flowage was due to the extreme straight-line thunderstorm winds."

Another tornado touched down Tuesday just North of Highway F along Roddis Line Road in far Eastern Ashland County.  The Weather service said, "like the other tornado, this one was embedded within a broad swath of wind damage."

The storm survey team will continue to assess damage in the remainder of Ashland County and into Bayfield County today (Thursday).
