Josh joined the Eyewitness News team in 2003. He spent almost three years working the news beat. He decided to switch things up and return to his first love--sports--in August of 2006. In sports, Josh isn't afraid to try new things and he does not take himself too seriously. "I laugh at myself on a daily basis and if I can share that attitude with people, it's a win-win situation," Josh says. For example, during Eyewitness Sports weekly "Up North" segment, you can see him biking up a mountain, taking on the frisbee golf course, or trying to land that fish of a lifetime. His story about a Hibbing golfer who plays hundreds of rounds a year, starting and ending in snowflakes, won a Regional Edward R. Murrow award for sports reporting in 2007. Josh also won a 2008 Associated Press Award for Feature Reporting for his story on "Lake Superior Surfing."
You can catch Josh anchoring sports Monday through Friday. He's also busy chasing down sports stories and deciding what stories will be covered throughout the week. He really enjoys calling Twins highlights. That is no surprise, considering he has been a die-hard fan since 1987. Josh spent 7 summers working for the Twins in phone ticket sales and customer service. Prior to coming to WDIO, Josh interned at KSTP-TV in the Twin Cities,CMT in Nashville and radio stations in Dallas and St. Cloud. Josh is a 2003 graduate of St. John's University in Collegeville. His degree is in Communication and has a minor in Spanish.
In his spare time, Josh likes to go to his cabin in Danbury, Wisconsin. He also enjoys a good pitcher's duel at the Metrodome and hanging out with family and friends.
