Sarah Frakes

Sarah FrakesSarah thanks her grandparents for helping her become a sports fan!  She says her love of sports came from her grandpa Len and grandma Fran Kozarek of Duluth. Some of her fondest memories are watching Twins and Vikings games with her Grandpa while enjoying a bowl of his daily ice cream.

If you ask Sarah's family they will tell you that she wants to do everything.  A definite thrill seeker, there is nothing she won't do---to her mother's dismay.  Her favorite part of working at WDIO is the Up North segments because she gets to get out in the Northland, try new things and meet great people. She has already tried log-rolling and fishing for carp---using a bow and arrow!

Sarah graduated from the University of Minnesota. She started her working sports career with an internship at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, MN.  She got a close-up look at horse racing and produced racing programs previewing horses and races. Then, Sarah moved from horses to the pigskin when she worked for an internet Fantasy Football company.

After sports, Sarah's second love is travelling.  She spent a semester roaming Australia and New Zealand.  Sarah loves to go out to eat at new restaurants with her family and play with her dog, Gracie.  She is excited to be living in Duluth close to her Grandma and her younger brother, who attends UMD.
