Mesabi Nugget: Start up After Christmas

Mesabi Nugget officials have pushed back their start-up of the plant, until after the holidays.

They had hoped to have the nearly pure iron nuggets pumping out by Christmas.

But commissioning of the massive equipment is taking longer than expected.

Mesabi Nugget is the world's first commercial iron nugget plant, and has been built at the old LTV site in Hoyt Lakes.
