Public Comments on Keetac Expansion

The proposed expansion at Keewatin Taconite is moving forward in the permitting process.
The Minnesota DNR has finished the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the expansion, and is accepting public comments on it.
Keetac's parent company U.S. Steel wants to expand the mine and restart an idled production line. The expected timeline is not until 2012 or 2013.
A public information meeting is coming up on Monday, January 11th, at 6:30pm at the Hibbing Memorial Building.
