Like any meeting involving PolyMet, hundreds of people from around the Northland attended.

On Wednesday night in Aurora, many took the opportunity to write down their views of the project, or have them recorded by a stenographer.

The DNR and other agencies will use those comments, when finalizing the all-important permitting work.

PolyMet is the base and precious metals project planned for Babbitt and Hoyt Lakes. It holds the promise of 400 permanent jobs and over 1000 for the trades.

Most of the people at the meeting are in support of the project, citing jobs and diversifying mining as the reasons.

A handful of folks have major concerns about the environmental impact.

Another meeting is scheduled for Thursday night in Blaine. Supporters from the Range are heading down by the busload.
