WI Ballast Water Permit

Wisconsin now has a ballast water permit for the shipping industry.
Minnesota also has a permit requirement. Wisconsin's is very similar, which is good news for the Twin Ports.
"We have to have an equal playing field," said Fred Shusterich, President of Midwest Energy.
Wisconsin's is stricter for salties, or ocean going vessels. Lawmakers are proud their state is taking the lead.
Lakers are exempt from the ballast permit regulations for five years.
