Grant Waives Recount

Gordon Grant decided to waive Thursday's recount for Duluth's 4th district city council seat after only three of seven precincts had been re-counted. Grant had asked for the numbers to be re-tallied, after he lost to Kerry Gauthier earlier this month by 153 votes or 4 percentage points.

The grant campaign had to pay for Thursday's recount. The city would only have picked up the cost if fewer than 19 votes had separated the two candidates
