Suspect Arrested in Hit and Run

Duluth police said they have arrested a 27-year-old woman, in connection with a hit and run pedestrian crash from over the weekend.

18-year-old Alex Balluff was walking with friends on Rice Lake Road, when he was struck by a black SUV. The vehicle left the scene.

He remains in critical condition at SMDC. Police said earlier this week he had brain and internal injuries. Balluff is from Anoka County.

It was released Wednesday night that another man was hit in the elbow, during the same crash.

Police had requested help from the public, to find the vehicle and the driver. The vehicle was found Sunday.

The driver, who is from Duluth, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon. She remains in the county jail, pending charges which could include felony criminal vehicular operation, felony hit and run, and driving after suspension.

Authorities extended a thank you to people who called in tips over the past few days.
