100 United Steelworkers at Keewatin Taconite are being placed back on layoff status, at the end of the week.
The union confirmed the information on Wednesday.
President Jack Thronson said that about 225 people have been working at the plant. They had been hoping for a re-start, which parent company U.S. Steel postponed last month.
KeeTac has been idle for almost a year now.
