"Women who got to watch a funny video, as opposed to a boring one on tourism, showed greater response in their immune system, which could mean they'd be less likely to be sick," said Toni Hope, of the Good Housekeeping Research Institute.Music also seems to raise levels of immunoglobulin A, the immune system's first line of defense against germs. "People who sing in a choir or, in one study, who got to listen to soothing music, showed a surge in these levels," said Hope. And having two glasses of wine a day cuts the risk of coming down with a bug by nearly half. Perhaps because red wine contains Resveratrol, an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory that also helps prolong your life. But stop at 2 glasses. More than that raises the risk for infections. And finally, get a little culture….from yogurt. In a University of California study, subjects who ate a cup of yogurt with live or active cultures every day for four months, increased the immune substances that help white blood cells fight disease.
