Clinton encountered pointed questions and comments over the U.S. aerial drone attacks in tribal areas along the Afghan border. One audience member said the Predator attacks amount to "executions without trial." Another compared them to acts of terrorism. One man alluded to the strikes, saying he had heard that in the U.S., aircraft aren't allowed to take off after 11 p.m., and "that is the sort of peace" the Pakistani people want. Clinton refused to discuss the subject, saying "there is a war going on," and the Obama administration is committed to helping Pakistan defeat terrorists. Clinton's main message for the trip is that the U.S. wants to work with Pakistan -- not just on the military front but also on trade, education, energy and other sectors.
