Kayak Found, Milwaukee Man Missing
Authorities believe a Milwaukee man is missing after finding his empty kayak Tuesday afternoon.
Lake County Sheriff Carey Johnson says the kayak belongs to 48-year-old Douglas Winter, who was staying at a Beaver Bay resort earlier this week. Johnson says authorities discovered Winter's vehicle at the resort with clothes and his checkbook inside. Lake County officials searched the surrounding shoreline, and the Coast Guard took their search to the skies, but Winter has not been found. Authorities have notified his family.
