Dan Dougherty, 50, made his first appearance in court on Thursday. He told Judge Shaun Floerke he wanted to plead not guilty, and move forward with the case. Dougherty's attorney is Dave Keegan, who was not present in court. Dougherty was charged with four misdemeanors earlier this month. The State Patrol said he drove through a red light on Highway 53, at the intersection of Arrowhead Road, and then hit another car. The two men in that car, Timothy Schlies and Hans Warren, were killed. That was back in March. Authorities said Dougherty had sleep medication in his system. |
