Created on: 10/22/2009 7:54 AM Federal Lawsuit Over Keetac LayoffsThe union at Keetac alleges that U.S. Steel did not give the federally required 60-day notice for the mass layoff at the plant last December. Steelworkers are asking for back pay for those 60 days. U.S. Steel just filed an answer to the lawsuit, saying unforseeable business conditions exempt them from the federal WARN notice.
