A new report released by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency shows the water clarify in the river has been compromised by things like erosion, silt and algae. It's threatening local plans and fish. concerns about pollution in Knife River were also raised back in 1998.The MPCA is looking for people to help them develop a clean-up plan. A public comment period will take place from October 12th through November 11, 2009. A public meeting is also scheduled from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on November 4, at the South St. Louis County Soil and Water office at 215 N. 1st Ave. E., Room 302.
