CEO of Magnetation Speaks to Future Engineers

Larry Lehtinen, CEO of Magnetation Inc., spoke to a large crowd of engineering students on Monday night.

It was UMD's 21st Annual Engineering Scholarship banquet. $90,000 in scholarships were awarded that evening.

Magnetation is a unique business on the Iron Range, that takes old taconite tailings and turns them into usable concentrate. Concentrate is used in the steel industry.
