The company owns United Taconite and Northshore Mining, and has partial ownership of Hibbing Taconite. Cliffs had anticipated selling 14 million tons of pellets this year, but now expects to sell 16 million tons. Their coal sales are also on the rise. This week, mining activity at UTac ramped up, to prepare for more production there.
