"Everything we'll be doing over the next 15 to 20 years hopefully will be addressed in this plan," Krumenaker said. "So for the tough issues, those who come after me, can look in here and say, 'yes it's been vetted by the public and approved by the National Parks Service." The plan includes a full rehabilitation of two lighthouses, building a brand new visitor center in Bayfield, and focusing on cultural and historic resource preservation. The drafted plan has been a five-year work in progress, Krumenaker said, and is expected to be implemened in 2011. For more information on the plan itself, and to electronically submit your comments, visit the National Park Service's website.
