    Scattered showers and storms will linger across the northern counties this evening and into the overnight hours. Lightning and brief heavy rain and gusty winds are the main threats tonight. Another round of thunderstorms is expected Wednesday afternoon and evening with convection initiating to the south along a northward moving warm front. Strong to severe storms are possible with large hail, damaging winds, heavy rain and even a few tornadoes. The strongest storms are expected south of Highway 2 in Minnesota in the afternoon, and into northwest Wisconsin in the evening.

    It was a great weekend for cloud watching, if you could dodge the raindrops or watch from afar. On and off again storms blew across the Northland since Friday, June 27. Viewers sent photos of clouds, hail and rain.
