Disability Advocates Care for Moose Lake State Hospital Cemetery

The Moose Lake State Hospital has been closed for years, but its sordid history is preserved to this day by a small cemetery nearby. That cemetery was where People First of Duluth, a self-advocacy group for those with disabilities, gathered on Sunday afternoon to remember the people society deemed "abnormal" and sentenced to a life institutionalized.
