The store is located in the Irongate Plaza. The closure list includes a total of eight stores in Minnesota, four in Wisconsin, and four in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Other regional stores on the closure list include Baxter, Minn., and Houghton, Mich.

The company said most of the stores will begin liquidation sales on April 17 and close in June.

The store at the Miller Hill Mall in Duluth will remain open.

J. C. Penney delivered its first net profit in six years in 2016, but said last month that it "must take aggressive action to better align our retail operations for sustainable growth." About 5,000 jobs will be affected by the store closures.
