For two years, Eric Franklin ran his fitness business out of his Duluth home, but now he says he can offer more opportunities for his clients thanks to more space in the heart of downtown.

XMT-3 Training Studio is now located at 30 W 1st Street in Duluth. Franklin is excited to now add group classes to his offerings.

"There are quite a few new things. The biggest thing I like so far is going to be the rebounding class. It's called TrampoLEAN," said Franklin.

The class involves having participants on small, personal trampolines. The aim is to keep the body constantly moving, while being kind to the knees.

"We don't need to do these big leaping jumps... Instead we are going to stay dedicated, focused on what we are doing, and making our intentions known that we are pushing through the feet and bouncing right back up," explained Franklin.

Another class Franklin is excited to offer is called Enter Sandman. Each participant will use a 40-pound sandbag throughout the class.

"Sand offers a movable resistance, much like working in water," he said.

In addition to new classes, Franklin is also adding group training to his schedule, plus he has added mobile training. In fact, he goes up to Virginia once a week to work with clients in their homes.

"I bring a fitness stepper, I bring a pair of 5-pound dumbbells, 10-pound dumbbells, 15-pound dumbbells, a couple kettle bells, and boxing gloves and we get started," said Franklin.

He says the goal is to get people comfortable with fitness so they will get the confidence to one day go to the gym on their own.

You can check out XMT-Training's new studio in downtown Duluth this Thursday, June 29. Franklin is hosting an open house from 5:30-7:00 p.m. For more information, visit their website or Facebook Page
