For this Workout Wednesday we checked out a new class at the Duluth Area Family YMCA - PiYo Live.
Instructor Jubilee Bond says the class offers a mix of Pilates, yoga, cardio, strength, and stretch.
"It's set to music, so it's a routine and it's the same every time," explained Bond. "You come in and you do the moves and you do them for the whole 7-week session."
Bond says it offers a great workout because it adds cardio to the stretching and strengthing that those who do Pilates and yoga enjoy. She has found class-goers see results in terms of flexibility and strength.
"I also think they walk out feeling really good - with energy but not too exhausted for the day," said Bond.
Bond says, personally, she has seen growth while instructing the class. Prone to knee and back pain, she says since doing PiYo Live, those aches have mostly gone away.
While modifications are offered during the class, Bond considers the class to be an intermediate level.
