U.S. Senator Tina Smith is set to visit Duluth on Friday. This will be her first time in the northland since being sworn in to the United States Senate.

Mayor Emily Larson is hosting a "Community Meet-and-Greet," with Smith at Hoops Brewing in Canal Park. Members of the area's business and labor community and local public officials will also be in attendance.

The meet and greet runs from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

Mayor Larson and U.S. Senator Smith will make remarks around 6 p.m.
