Some of these artists are notable in the music business. Tracy Lundeen of the Bluebird Foundation says Duluth native Kim Olson is one of these people. He started his career singing in the northland as a teenager in the 1970s. Since then, he's gone on to perform for Showtime International and at Disneyland Resort in California.

In similar fashion to previous years, proceeds from the CD will go to the foundation, which offers scholarships and grants to students in the performing arts. To date, they've awarded nearly $20,000 to students around the Northland.

Sydney Hansen, a freshman at Hermantown High School, is one of the featured artists on this year's album and gave a sneak peek of her music on GMN. She will also be performing at the release party, which is Wednesday at Clyde Iron Works in Duluth from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

You can also pick up a copy of "Christmas by the Lake" at many area businesses, including all Super One Foods customer service counters, Gary Milk House, Big Daddy’s Burgers, Holiday Spirit in the Lights, Lake It and Schmitt Music in the Miller Hill Mall, Engwall Florist & Gifts in Hermantown and Superior, and discoverpc.net in Superior.
