Audiences will be transported back to the early 1940s to a time where Bob Hope was king of comedy and swing music was sweeping the nation. Laakso says classical favorites like Hoagy Carmichael and Lena Horne are two of the many characters in this years production.

Martin is taking on the roles of being an Andrews sister and an impression of Lily Tomlin's ernestine.

"We really try to make it like a USO show with the canteen and the SPAM sandwiches, " Martin says.

During the show, a "canteen" will be open with coffee, donuts, and SPAM sandwiches available.

The show's music is done by Randy Lee and Ensemble. Laakso says the band is a big part of how the audience is brought back in time.

"Music has such a powerful way of doing that, " she explains.

Folks have two chances to see it. Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Both performances will take place at the Elks Club in Superior.

Tickets are $15. Partial proceeds will go to Honor Flight Northland.
