WDIO-TV has named Amy Adamle as the News Anchor for Good Morning Northland.
She will join Meteorologist Taylor Dayton on the Northland’s leading morning newscast. Amy joined the Eyewitness News team in June.
She has quickly made her mark finding and telling great stories. Amy’s journalistic range includes late-breaking, hard-news stories, detailed and complicated issues, and warm and sensitive human interest stories. She will now bring those strengths and background to the anchor desk.
“I’m extremely excited to join the wonderful Good Morning Northland team, and I look forward to working hard to continue its strong presence,” Amy said. “I feel fortunate to have this opportunity to work with Taylor Dayton, get to know the Northland community even better, and start my day with them every morning.”
News Director Steve Goodspeed said Amy will be a great fit for the morning. “To be ready to greet people that early in the morning, you have to have the right personality—and multiple alarm clocks!” Goodspeed added, “We know viewers will enjoy starting their day every morning by getting the latest news from Amy.”
Amy grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota and graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. In her free time, Amy loves to travel, try new restaurants, and take in a good concert. She has enjoyed expanding her outdoorsy side in the Northland, and hit the trails. She also loves sports, and after arriving as a dedicated Gopher fan, she has learned to share that allegiance with the Bulldogs.
The most important things in Amy's life are her friends and family. She's grateful for all of the support she's had along the way and is excited for this next phase in her journalism career.
Amy takes over the anchor desk from Maarja Anderson, who held the position for over three years, before joining Visit Duluth and taking on a more sane schedule earlier this month.
